About Me

Madame Recamier by by François Pascal Simon, Baron Gérard, 1802

I was born in Western Pennsylvania, raised in West Virginia, and was moved (albeit involuntarily) to Louisiana in 1973. I graduated from high school in 1976, graduated with a degree in Accounting from LSU in 1980, and worked as an Accountant for fifteen years; in 1984 I married my husband. After being a lady of leisure for three years, in 1999 I began working in Table Games at a Native American Casino; my husband (who worked on oil rigs) also began working at the Casino a few years later. He retired from the Casino in 2020, and I was involuntarily retired in 2021. My son (married December 2010 to a girl from our town) is in the Hudson Valley area of New York (he was in the navy from 2010 through 2020), and has one daughter, who I call my Kitten (born 2015). My daughter and her daughter, who I call my Kaboodle (born 2020) live near Opelousas, and my daughter’s former Significant Other (and the father of her daughter) lives near Lake Charles. We also have eight outside cats (at last count). I am also a reasonably devout Roman Catholic, with a great devotion to the Saints, and I try to be sincere about my religion. I am also devoted to my porch plants and my reading. My weblog is of interest to a very limited set of people, but I do value all of my Six or Seven Loyal Readers.
