Daily Update: Thursday, May 30th, 2024

Today is the traditional date of the Solemnity of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), although in America the Solemnity will be celebrated this coming Sunday. Today is the Optional Memorial of Saint Joan of Arc, Virgin and Martyr (died 1431). We also celebrate Memorial Day on its Traditional date.

On August 23^rd, 2023 The Advocate, based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, published an article on Politics, Sport and Culinary creations: 7 books that will help you understand south Louisiana. This book is the second book on that list, about a part of New Orleans that most people never think about – New Orleans East. It is also about family, and memory, and race, and finding one’s roots, and finding what is important to oneself.
