Today is the Third Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Memorial of Saint Agnes, Virgin and Martyr (died c. 304) and the Optional Memorial of Saint Meinrad of Einsiedeln, Hermit (died 861). Today is also the Fourth Day of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity; the Theme for 2018 bis “Your Right Hand, O Lord, Glorious in Power” (Exodus 15:6), and our meditation for today being on “Hope and Healing” (John 14:25-27). In the secular world, today is National Hugging Day, and the anniversary of the United States Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission (2010).
