In this twenty-second book of the series about Jim Qwilleran, former crime reporter and current column writer for the local paper (and inheritor of a vast fortune), he and the cats (Koko and Yum Yum, both Siamese) are living in Pickax City in September, which is late in the fall four hundred miles north of anywhere. This was a good addition to the series.
